Carl Stromquist is of Interior Salish descent and mainly a self-taught artist who has focused on the forms and designs of his cultural heritage.
In 1992 he began producing Northwest Coast art in the form of paintings and has to date created five limited edition prints. He has studied under Salish artist George Pennier, and started carving wood in 1997. Stromquist has also collaborated with glass sculpture Douglas Baker, and is currently working with him in casting stainless steel.
