Joe Jack initially started carving as a young man on the Cowichan Native Reserve. By watching other artists, and seeking to improve on his own, Jack sharpened his skills. Much of the inspiration for his pieces comes from his native ancestry and the legends he learned as a child.
Jack moved to Campbell River in 1994 and began making jewelry fulltime. “I was trying to find something that really captivated my interest. With jewelry there is so much to learn.”
