Joslyn Williams was born in 1997 and has lived in Victoria, B.C. her whole life. She is Nuu-chah-nulth and Kwakwaka’wakw but is focusing on Nuu-chah-nulth art. Joslyn is the only one in her family that is learning how to carve.
Joslyn started carving at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC) on a totem pole with other native youth. The totem pole she took part in carving was raised in front of VNFC in March 2106. She has continued to learn from master carver Moy Sutherland and is now his apprentice.
