Ken McNeil is a founding instructor of the Freda Diesing School of Northwest Coast Art in Terrace, BC. He is well known in the art community and has been involved in the production of major public works nationally and abroad. Ken has been carving for over 25 years and taught in Prince Rupert, Kitselas, Telegraph Creek, and the University of Alaska, Sitka, AK.
Ken apprenticed with his uncle Dempsey Bob and has assisted him on many of his monumental commissions as well as working on major private and corporate commissions of his own. With Stan Bevan, he carved a totem pole for Expo 92 in Seville and a house post for the First Nations House of Learning at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. His work has been in many exhibitions and he is a leading artist of the new generation.
