This Moon papercast by Robert Davidson is editioned “I.P.”, which stands for “Indian Proof”. At this stage in Davidson’s career, he would often create an “I.P.” edition of a work as a sort of tongue in cheek reference to the formality of the contemporary art world. The “I.P.” was usually an edition out of the run that he meant to keep for himself. In the case of the Moon papercast, there is a numbered edition of 12, an “A.P” (Artist Proof) and an “I.P.”
Offered here is the “I.P.” edition of the work. Please call to inquire as the piece is not on-site at the gallery and we will need to bring in.
