T’sing (pronounced tch’ing)

"Though I have never seen t’sing, I always know where he has been. I see the signs of his industry when I run Spirit Lake. And I know from what I see, he is ambitious. He is also humble; we never see him at work, we only see the evidence of his labours. He is hardworking; he does not get caught up in plans to do things, instead he simply accomplishes them. Like Beaver holds onto his stick, I hold onto his lesson: focus your energy on working toward your achievements and new perspectives will be revealed." - Ben Davidson

Beaver is a significant crest figure on the Northwest Coast. Beaver is known as an elder who keeps to themselves and only gets involved in the affairs of others if they are important. Beavers are known as the builders of the lodges and homes that support the family unit. In one story the first ancestral Beaver was a woman while in other stories Beaver is one of Raven’s uncles. They are very industrious and territorial animals. Beaver is often depicted with pronounced front teeth, scaly tails and small claws. Sometimes Beaver is also shown with a harelip.
