Alvin Child

Alvin Child was born in Alert Bay, British Columbia in October 1962. He is a member of the Tsawataineuk Band from Kingcome Inlet and is the second child of John Alvin Dudoward and Irene Willie. Alvin's father passed away when he was one year old, after which the family relocated to Nanaimo. Alvin's mother married his adoptive father, Ron Child, when he was four years old.

In 1984, a chance encounter led to Alvin's artistic career, after he met John Livingston in Victoria, BC. The meeting led to a 35 year mentorship and friendship, until John's passing in 2019.

Alvin Child continues to create artwork, focusing on two-dimensional designs. He has released seven limited edition serigraph series.
