Isabel Rorick

Isabel Rorick comes from a long line of Haida weavers, including her mother, Primrose Adams; her paternal grandmother, Selina Peratrovich; her aunt, Delores Churchill; and her two cousins, April and Holly Churchill.

Rorick began weaving at the age of thirteen, when her grandmother left some bundles of cedar bark at her house. She later joined her grandmother in Ketchikan, Alaska, and learned to weave with spruce root. She currently resides on Hornby Island, BC.

Isabel Rorick has participated in many group exhibitions; among them was Topographies: Aspects of Recent British Columbia Art, held at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Native Visions at the Seattle Art Museum and Raven Travelling at the Vancouver Art Gallery. This show focused on the best of the best artists in British Columbia. Her work can also be found in public and private collections around the world.
