Ulth-Ma-Choo-Wha, also known as both the Cedar Bark Ogre and the White Forest Spirit, is said to be the husband of Tsonoquoa. Though barred from entering the dance house, he holds a central role in the ƛuukʷaana (Klukwana), the Wolf Dance; a sacred winter ceremonial of the Nuu-chah-nulth. Ulth-Ma-Choo-Wha appears throughout the multi-day ceremony in a state of frenzied, destructive dance. Ulth-Ma-Choo-Wha is considered a being of immense power, and encounters with him are deeply feared, though such meetings are said to transfer spiritual power to those who survive them.

Some interpretations suggest that Ulth-Ma-Choo-Wha may also embody the men who became lost in deep forests and mountain wilderness, many of whom were believed to have been taken in and sustained by wolf packs. During the Klukwana ceremonial, Wolf dancers moving through the ritual spaces would be accompanied by masked figures representing these Wild Men of the Woods.
