Travis Anthony Peal was born on Sept.18 1982 in Kamloops B.C. Travis is the oldest of 5 siblings. Travis is of Nisga’a decent in northern British Columbia. Nisga’a art is a strong part of Travis’ family heritage and is something he would like to carry on.
He first started by volunteering at the Victoria Native Friendship Center (VFNC) in search of work. Volunteering full time at the totem pole, he was offered an apprenticeship with Morris (Moy) Sutherland. The totem pole was raised in front of the VFNC in March of 2016.
